Girlguiding Hove is made up of hundreds of rainbows, brownies, guides, rangers and leaders who come together to have fun and make friends across Hove, Portslade and Mile Oak.

Rainbows Ages 5 to 7
Rainbows take part in games and activities as part of their programme called the Rainbow Jigsaw.  Everything a Rainbow does helps her to develop and to think for herself, in a safe girl-only environment.  Any girl aged five to seven can be a Rainbow.

Brownies Ages 7-10
Brownies are girls aged seven to ten years old.  Brownie meetings in Hove are full of challenges, games and activities, usually ones that the Brownies have suggested themselves.

Guides Ages 10-14
Being a Guide is all about learning new skills, making your own decisions and having fun.  Any girl aged between ten and fourteen can become a Guide.  Guiding in Hove provides a safe environment to explore new possibilities and achieve personal goals while making friends and having adventures.


Senior Section Ages 14-26
The senior section is for anyone aged between fourteen and twenty six.  In the Senior Section, young women participate in a fun and flexible programme known as Look Wider. The programme is also linked to a variety of recognised qualifications or awards, both within and outside guiding.

STARTING IN BRIGHTON - SEPTEMBER 2008
The most fun you can have and still be learning!

A fun way for you and your children to learn French together. A pre-school group suitable for any nationality. Songs and games galore, lots of laughter guaranteed.

Sessions begin with a short period of free playtime, an opportunity for parents to arrive and settle, make a drink and get comfortable. Once everybody feels nicely at home, the lesson begins with the introduction of some vocabulary that is then developed in some games.

There is a strong musical flavour to Salut Les Petits! and there will be many opportunities for everyone to both make music and to dance to it; workshops invariably include a short time to flex our latest dance moves. Sessions close with a mix of French songs and nursary rhymes that can be found on the Salut Les Petits CD. The accompanying booklet will have transcripts and translations for all the songs and some of the games.
