Worthing Museum and Art Gallery Chapel Road, Worthing BN11 1HP Tel 01903 221448

The children will love looking at the artifacts and archaeological treasures. There is a costume and textile collection, clothing through the ages, a display of toys, dolls and teddy bears will delight your children. The shop is reasonably priced and not too big so that it's overwhelming for little ones (and parents too!).
Special events are held that this museum as well.

High Salvington Mill Furze Road, High Salvington
BN13 3BP

This fully operational mill, dating from approximately 1750, produces stone ground flour (weather permitting). It's a fun and educational place for the children, set on the South Downs. There are refreshments available and toilets. There is also a shop at the mill.

Opening times: April to September inclusive - 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, 2.30pm - 5pm
Located off the A27 at Salvington Hill or off the A24 at Bost Hill. Both routes are signposted off the main roads. See Map


Cissbury Ring Findon, West Sussex

Cissbury Ring is the second largest hill fort in the country. With views of Beachy Head and the Isle of Wight, the area is also rich in wildlife and was the site of Neolithic flint mining. Excellent walking.

There is a car park at Storrington Rise, Findon Valley, off A24, three miles north of Worthing.


Bramber Castle Bramber Village, West Sussex

A delightful setting - ruins and old moat to explore.

There is a small car park next to the castle, but there is a set of steep steps up to the castle which make disabled and pushchair access difficult.

Watch out for steep drops round the edge of the castle grounds - take special care with very young children.

Get a slice of Roman history at Fishbourne. There are some impressive Roman remains that have been excavated on sight including 20 spectacular mosaic floors, Roman Garden and Museum. Look out for special events and demonstrations throughout the year such as musical events, Roman Soldiers and theatre performances.

Designated by the Government for its outstanding collections of national importance’ this open air museum will give you and your children an introduction to how people lived. There are around 50 historic buildings dating from 13th to 19th century, farm animals, woodland walks and a picturesque lake.
